Explore the Japanese type of brush painting called Sumi-e. Using bamboo brushes and ink, we will learn the strokes used to paint bamboo and cherry blossoms. Join us as we recognize the achievements of this year’s winning artists of the Student Juried Exhibition from Lone Star College – North Harris. The winning artwork will be displayed at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts on April 21.
Summer Camp
The Pearl is offering 8 sessions of Summer Museum Camp. The theme for this summer’s camps is the art and culture of Japan, inspired by our exhibition, Views of Mt. Fuji: Selections from the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.
Tuition for Museum Members: $140*
Tuition for Non-Members: $165
$10 Discount per camp/per child for registering more than one child or for more than one camp

Cypress Creek FACE is proud to promote Lone Star College-North Harris Jazz Band, All State Region IX Jazz Ensemble with guest artist Eric Mariental. The Jazz Band will be performing at the Centrum on Saturday, March 12. Tickets are $10 general admission. FACE will be ticketing the event and proceeds will go to the North Harris Jazz Band. Lone Star College-North Harris has released its spring fine arts calendar, and among its February events is a joint performance by the Jazz Ensemble, Steel Band and Pop Singers on Wednesday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the LSC-North Harris gym at 2700 W.W. Thorne Dr., Houston, Texas 77073 and is free to attend.
Upcoming Events: Lone Star College-North Harris will present a matinee concert at noon on Monday, February 28. It will be held in the choir hall located in room A226 of the Academic Building. This event is free admission.
The LSC-North Harris fine arts department offers a variety of concerts, theatrical productions, art exhibitions and lectures, workshops and more throughout the year. These events are open to the community, and often at no cost.
