Author to Speak at Annual Meeting

Join the Barbara Bush Library Friends at their Annual Meeting on Monday, May 9, in the Earl Elliott Room.

The featured speaker is Melissa Williams, author of the Iggy the Iguana and the Turtle Town series for kids, owner of LongTale Publishing, and founder of READ3Zero, a Literacy Foundation.

Melissa has been writing stories since the age of eight . Many were inspired by real-life experiences with childhood pets she owned while growing up in Houston.

Melissa connects to her young readers by visiting schools and speaking to students, giving hands-on insight into the writing and publishing process. Melissa also hosts writing workshops, summer camps, and book clubs for her readers through out the year.
